Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Fleet Mechanic to join our maintenance team in Seattle, WA. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, trailers, and other fleet equipment.

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and determine appropriate repairs.

  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.

  • Maintain accurate records of services, repairs, and inspections using fleet management software.

  • Replace parts such as brakes, suspension components, transmissions, and engines.

  • Operate diagnostic tools and software to identify faults and update systems.

  • Collaborate with dispatch, operations, and safety teams to minimize downtime.

  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; technical training or certifications preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or in a related field.

  • ASE certifications (T-Series) or willingness to obtain.

  • CDL Class A or B preferred (or ability to obtain within 6 months).

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, and diagnostics.

  • Proficient with repair tools and diagnostic equipment.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

  • Work in various weather conditions and in/under vehicles.

  • Stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
